Last Wednesday, Spanish soccer legend Shabibi Alonso took over the coaching reins of Leverkusen at the age of 40. Just the next day, on Saturday, he showed remarkable strength in his first home game, leading his team to a 4-0 sweep of Schalk 04, setting a new record for the club's biggest win since the new manager took over, a strength that should not be underestimated.

Shabibi Alonso, who has been an assistant coach at Real Sociedad B for three years, took charge of the top flight for the first time last week. He faced Leverkusen, who had started the league campaign with just one win, but he came out refreshed against Schalk 04. In the first half, Moussa Daiyabi and Shelimey Ferimbang scored a goal each to set up a 2-0 lead for their team. In the second half, Shelimey Ferimbang added another goal while Paulino added the icing on the cake late in the game to seal a 4-0 win.
