At the tail end of the summer transfer season, Liverpool secured the loan of Efamilu from Juventus, with the son making just one appearance in the Eredivisie. However, manager Gopp soon realized that the Brazilian midfielder does not fit the team's style and plans to return him to his country of origin before the winter window. Meanwhile, Liverpool are looking for a new midfielder to strengthen their squad.

Efamilu, who has played for Barcelona and Juventus in his career, moved to Liverpool in the summer window to fill the vacancy in the midfield. Due to the successive injuries of the midfielders in the beginning of the season, Tiago Ajendana, Jordan Henderson, Nabikida, Gudis Jones and Alex Chamberlain were all unable to play, so Efamilu had a chance to step up. However, after playing for only 10 minutes in the second half of the UEFA Europa League match against Napoli in the 77th minute, Gop decided that he was not suitable for the match and decided to send him back to Juve.

Liverpool reached an agreement with Juve to loan Efamilu for a year, but now the Reds intend to end the loan early with plans to send him back to Juve next January. However, Juve are not willing to take it, which puts the 26-year-old Efamilu in an awkward position.

On the other hand, Kopp is looking for a new midfielder in the winter transfer window and has a few candidates in mind, including Wolves midfielder Mathias Nunes, Binfiga's Ansou Fernandes and Dormont's Zoudi Binningham. However, the transfer fees of these three are not expensive, and Liverpool will need to consider carefully if they want to sign one of them.
