As the summer draws to a close, the contract of Chelsea's central player, Nicolò Gendi, is about to expire. The Chelsea hierarchy had offered him a '2+1' year extension, but the 31-year-old France international is sticking to his guns and expects to sign a four-year long term contract outright.
According to inside sources, Jandy's agent has sat down with Chelsea's management team to negotiate a contract extension. New Chelsea boss Pauly Torres has also proposed a '2+1' year contract, but the initial agreement is for a two-year extension. If, at the end of the contract, the two sides are still on good terms and are satisfied with each other's performance, an option for an additional year will then open up.
