In a striking decision in the heat of the summer, Paris Saint-Germain FC have sent German midfield superstar Dassner on loan to Benfica for a full year. The move not only allowed Dassner to quickly make a name for himself in the Portuguese Premier League, but also made him the most sought-after earner king in the league.
Though at PSG, Das took home an annual salary of just €7 million, which isn't a huge amount at that club, and is a significant difference compared to the trio of Kilian McBabb, Nima and Mez. However, in the relatively financially weak Portuguese Superliga, such an annual salary is a rarity, and the vast majority of clubs cannot afford to pay such a high salary.
