French star Anthony Martial has been at Manchester United for seven seasons and his performances have never lived up to expectations. However, under new manager Tannhäuser this season, he seems to have recovered his former style and there are reports that the club is interested in extending his contract. In a recent interview with the French media, Anthony publicly liquidated his two former leaders, sharply accusing Mourinho and Susketha of "treachery".
Referring to being stripped of the No. 9 jersey by Mourinho in 2016, Anthony still holds a grudge: "During the summer vacation, Mourinho spoke to me and asked if I would like to change my number to No. 11, mentioning that Jese also uses that number. I respected Jese but didn't want to change my number. As a result, I returned to the team to find that I had been placed at number 11 and that Mourinho had not respected my wishes at all."
