Recently, the British media broke the heavy news that Newcastle United has become a transfer agreement with former Liverpool goalkeeper Kalliosa. The German international goalkeeper will officially don the Newcastle kit after completing a fitness test to become a strong replacement for Nicolas Pouby. Kallios, whose contract expired this summer, played for Liverpool in the '18 UEFA Champions League final on 'Thriller Night', which was his last appearance for the 'Reds'.
It's worth noting that after Newcastle United goalkeeper Dubafka was loaned to Manchester United, number two goalkeeper Kardalu was injured in training and is not expected to return until at least 2023. Faced with this unforeseen situation, Newcastle United were quick to look for a replacement in free agency and quickly agreed a deal with Kalliosa. The 29-year-old goalkeeper will reportedly sign a short-term contract.
Since missing out on the title with two consecutive errors in the UEFA Champions League '18 final, Kallios spent the next three seasons on loan at Beasidas and Union Berlin. However, surprisingly, there is still a chance for him to stay in the Premier League when his contract expires this summer.
