In the early hours of Thursday morning (1), Arsenal defeated Aston Villa by 2-1 with goals from Brazilian strikers Gabriel Jecis and Gabriel Martinelli. Arsenal have now won five consecutive matches in the Premier League this season, and continue to lead the table, building up momentum for next Sunday (4) night's away match against Manchester United.

At just 21 years of age, Gabil Martynelli had an eye-catching game, launching a number of attacks down the left side of the pitch, with one threatening cross going close, but Bukayo Shaka was on hand at the far post to fire the ball over the bar.

However, Arsenal's attack did not stop there. With 30 minutes to go, Glesha Gah fired a shot from a narrow angle on the left, and although it was blocked by Villa keeper Damien Martinez, Gabil Jetsis quickly added the finishing touch.

A rare goal happened after the half-time break. Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Rees came on as a substitute for just one minute and sent a corner kick flying straight into the net. Arsenal conceded the goal carelessly, but it was quickly made 2-1 by Gabier Martinelli.

The official player of the match award went to "Jesus" Gabil Jetsis, who scored two goals in the game. He had four shots on goal, three on target, one breakaway and three successful scrambles.

Gabil Jecis has scored three goals and contributed three assists in five Premier League games since moving to Arsenal from Manchester City this summer, creating six goals in total and becoming the first player in Arsenal's history to create the most goals in five Premier League games.
