Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) swept aside Toulouse 3-0 in Ligue 1 on Thursday (1), with Nima adding another goal to his tally. The 30-year-old Brazilian international has scored 15 goals in six matches for PSG this season, including nine goals and six assists, and has outperformed his teammate Kylian McBarbie.
Nima broke the deadlock in the 37th minute of the first half to open the scoring for PSG. From international to club matches, Nima has scored in 10 consecutive matches, setting a new record for the most consecutive goals in his career, and is in full swing.
Not to be outdone, Kilian McBarbie scored a goal in the second half and hit the post with a shot towards the end of the game, which was eventually added to by Zuan Barnes to help PSG finish the game with a 3-0 win. Nima is rumored to have a strained relationship with McBarbie and has even been known to fight over penalty kick chances during games. With McBarbie's contract extension this summer, he has the upper hand in the power struggle with higher salaries and more power, and Nyema will have to give his all on the pitch in order to compete with his "nemesis". The internal rivalry between the two may be a boon for PSG.
