Welian, the former Brazilian winger for Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal, is on the verge of returning to the Premier League as a free agent, joining another London side, Fulham. He only needs to pass a final medical before he can officially complete his signing.
Welian, 34, returned to Brazil after leaving Arsenal last year to join Corinthians, but he made just nine appearances there, going nowhere. He has reportedly agreed an early termination of his contract with Corinthians and his family have been subjected to cyber-violence and death threats in the region, prompting his decision to leave Brazil and return to London for a new opportunity.
Willian had moments of brilliance in his Premier League career, helping his team win the Premier League title twice in seven seasons at Chelsea. However, after joining Arsenal, he didn't perform well, scoring just one goal in 37 appearances and leaving the team after one season.
Returning to London this time, Willian will join Fulham who have just been promoted this season. As the team's 9th new recruit, his arrival certainly strengthens the team. If goal scorer Alexander Mizunovic can be supported by Welian, the team's future will be even brighter.
