With all the turmoil in the United team, there are plans to bring in a new goalkeeper in order to secure a place in the team, in order to inspire a sense of competitiveness in the existing goalkeeper, Dickiea, and in turn improve the overall performance of the team.
Initially, United looked at Eintracht Frankfurt's Chyun Chapu, but were met with a polite rejection. In desperation, the Red Devils turned to Newcastle, seeking to sign 33-year-old Slovakian international Dubafka. Dubafka has reportedly given the nod to join United and is only waiting for Newcastle to cut loose.
Manchester United plan to take a rent-and-buy approach to bring in Dubafka, who will be bought out for £5 million next summer if he performs up to standard. However, the Newcastle side want to sell Dubafka this summer, which has become a major point of difference in the deal.
In the previous season, Dubafka made 27 appearances for Newcastle, conceding 36 goals, including 8 clean sheets. Although he still has three years left on his contract, Dubafka has not been given a chance to play so far this season following the arrival of Nicky Poppy and as a result, he has put in a transfer request to the club seeking to join Manchester United.
