A huge Premier League pre-season warm-up match was played in the United States in the morning sun on Sunday. In the marquee clash, Arsenal beat Everton by a score of 2-0. It is worth mentioning that striker Gabriel Jesus, who moved to Arsenal from Manchester City this summer, once again contributed to the team's success. The Brazilian international, who is known as "Jesus", has already scored three goals in the last two warm-up matches, showing an amazing form, and manager Mikel Arteta's reinforcement this time is undoubtedly a successful choice.
Gabriel Jesus made his debut for Arsenal in the last warm-up game, and despite only coming on as a substitute, he showed a surprising amount of strength, with a key shot from the back nearly piercing the Nuremberg goal. He made his debut in this game and had a great shot on goal just 15 minutes into the game, but unfortunately it was valiantly saved by Everton goalkeeper Bickford.
Arsenal finally broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute. Xherdan Solas took a corner kick, and with all the chaos in front of the goal, the ball ghosted to the feet of Gabriel Jesus, who was buried at the far post, and he fired the ball into the net in one smooth motion.
Arsenal's second goal was also related to "Jesus". He made a breakthrough on the left and crossed the ball to Gabriel Martinelli, who adjusted the ball and scuffed it past the far post for Bucayo Sacca to add to his tally at the near post, giving Arsenal a 2-0 lead in the 36th minute.
Gabriel Jesus continued his performance in the second half with a penalty opportunity on the edge of the box, but unfortunately Martyn Odigat was unable to add to his team's tally again as he fired the penalty over the crossbar.
The changeover led to a massive personnel change, but no more goals happened. In the end, Arsenal held on for a 2-0 win and will next play Orlando City on the morning of July 21st.
