Manchester United's arch-rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have been engaged in a thrilling battle for the title in the final round of the English Premier League. The "Red Devils" narrowly missed out on a place in the Europa League at a crucial time, losing 0-1 away to Crystal Palace. Luckily, Brighton came back to beat Westham in the other game, which allowed United to keep the sixth position. New manager Tannhäuser, who was watching the game live for the first time, was caught frowning several times, seemingly foreshadowing a major reshuffle at United this summer.

Prior to the Brakes game, United were two points ahead of Westham and only a win would ensure qualification for the Europa League. However, they were breached by Werfet Sachs in 37 minutes and the team was unable to score in the absence of C Ronaldo. In the end, United lost 0-1. Thankfully, Westham were ahead of Brighton in the first half of the other match, but conceded 3 goals in the second half and lost 1-3. Man Utd were able to retain their UEFA Cup qualification, while Westham will be playing in the UEFA Europa League.

Dutch coach Tannhäuser made his first appearance of the game but was unhappy throughout and "couldn't stop smiling" when posing for photos with fans during half-time. Famous journalist Sam Pilger revealed, "Tanhag was seen frowning several times in the box and was particularly unhappy with Alex Tynes' performance." United lost again in the Brakes, the first time since 1981 that they have lost six consecutive league games away from home, and have a goal difference of zero this season, the first time since 1989/90 (-1) that they have failed to get a positive score.
