Decisively adjusting their strategy, they have set their sights on another French international - Cao Yaveney. The club is rumored to be interested in spending around €64 million on the 22-year-old Monaco midfield star this summer.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the fight to sign Cao Yaweni has become Real Madrid's top priority this summer. The club expects him to take over the mantle of Modigliani and Chios and become the new centerpiece of the team.
Cao Yaveney currently has two years left on his deal with Monaco, with a market valuation of around €64 million. This season, he has made 49 appearances in all competitions, including 47 starts, contributing five goals and three assists to help Monaco finish third in Ligue 1 and earn a place in next season's UEFA Europa League playoffs.
There is even news that Real Madrid's Champions League finalists, Liverpool, have also shown interest in Cao Yavani. The rising star's market value may climb further as a result.
