In the English Premier League, a team called Newcastle is plotting to make a big move this summer. According to the Manchester Evening News, the team known as the Magpies are planning to sign young goalkeeper Deon Henderson from Manchester United for 40 million pounds, which would make him the third most expensive goalkeeper in the history of the Premier League, behind Alesha Banaga and Alison Biggar.
Back in the winter transfer window in January this year, Newcastle tried to bring in Deon Henderson, but for various reasons, the two sides failed to reach an agreement. Now, the nouveau riche side, backed by Saudi Arabia's sovereign fund, have once again gone on the offensive with a £40 million transfer fee, which will be hard for United to refuse.
Despite Manchester United's star goalkeeper Dickia holding down the starting spot, Deon Henderson has made just three appearances this season, with no Premier League appearances to his name. The 25 year old England goalkeeper has had his heart set on leaving the club for a long time, and it is believed that he will gladly accept Newcastle's offer.
Not only would the sale of the reserve player at a premium price be a significant earner for United, but for new manager Tannhäuser, the funds would help him bring in new players to bolster his squad this summer.
