On the eve of Ukraine's crucial battle against Belgium in the third round of the UEFA Europa League group stage on June 27, Beijing time, Ukrainian international Yarmolenko faced the media and frankly expressed his views on his personal record of scoring goals in the national team.

Yarmolenko appeared somewhat bemused by the persistent question of whether he expected to break the national team's goal scoring record held by legendary striker Shevchenko. He said that although this record is often mentioned by outsiders, what is more important to him is to be able to wear the national team's uniform and do his part for his country in a top tournament like the UEFA Europa League.

"People are always very interested in this goal scoring record, but for me, playing in the Euros and fighting for Ukraine is the most important thing." Yarmolenko said, "I am deeply honored to represent Ukraine at the Euros for the fourth time in a row. Every time I play for the national team, I give my best."

Talking about Shevchenko's record, Yarmolenko appeared to be very blasé. He said it would be nice to break the record, but even if he can't, he doesn't feel lost. "History is history, it will not be changed." He said, "Every player who has played for the national team has left his mark. Whether they made 10 or 100 appearances, they all contributed to Ukrainian soccer."

Yarmolenko's attitude highlights the team spirit and sense of national honor that a professional player should have. In the upcoming UEFA Europa League, I believe he will contribute to the Ukrainian team with practical actions, and the personal record, which is not so important.
