News of new Manchester United manager Tannhäuser's arrival has just spread, yet the club's internal turmoil has yet to subside. Captain Harry Magouni suffered a bomb scare on Wednesday (20) when a fanatic claimed to have planted a bomb inside Magouni's mansion, the news immediately sparked panic in the England international who quickly called the police. Police and dogs searched Magouni's mansion but did not find any bomb and the case appears to be a false alarm. The threatening letter is said to contain a personal attack on Magouni and is suspected to be the work of radical Manchester United fans who are unhappy with his recent performances.

Following the 0-4 defeat to Liverpool in their last league game, 29-year-old Magouni received this threatening email claiming that a bomb had been planted at his £4million mansion in Cheshire. Although Magouni had previously received a number of threatening letters from fans, the 'bomb' claim escalated the situation and he decided to call the police. The police were quickly mobilized, but two searches failed to turn up any bombs, and the case is likely to have been a false alarm.

Magouni lives with his fiancée Fern Hawkins and two daughters, and the threatening emails were directed at the Manchester United stalwart. Police investigations suggest that the fanatic may have acted in extremis because he was unhappy with Magouni's performance. According to a source at The Sun UK, "Magouni will not leave United because of this threat, family safety is his priority but with his tough character he can deal with these ugly fans."

Magouni has been criticized for his performances this season, and he has been booed by fans during England national team matches, with many believing that his £80 million transfer fee doesn't match his performances on the field. Despite this, Magouni seems unaffected by the incident as he continues to train as usual in preparation for Saturday night's (23) Premier League match away to Arsenal.
