Paris Saint-Germain soccer club (PSG) has made a brand new contract extension offer to French shot-stopper Kylian McBarbie, a two-year deal worth a total of 230 million euros (HK$1.96 billion) designed to ensure that the young star will continue to play for Paris for the next two years. Once his contract expires, McBarbie will be just 25 years old and in his prime.
According to the British BBC, in order to keep McBarbie, PSG in the renewal conditions all the way up, not only the amount of the contract continues to climb, but also provide the team captain position. It is reported that PSG plans to raise the signature fee from 150 million euros to 180 million euros, the annual salary after tax to 25 million euros, the contract extension period of two years, the purpose is to ensure that McBarbee can witness the World Cup in Qatar as well as two years after the Paris Olympics.
If McBarbie accepts to stay in the team, he will not only be earning a handsome income personally, but his team will also be able to earn a huge commission of up to £42 million.
It was previously reported that Real Madrid Football Club (Real Madrid) had offered McBarbie a five-year deal worth $2 billion. And now, the offer is certainly attractive as McBarbie can get a similar total amount as Real Madrid if he stays in Paris for two more years.
PSG also offered a unique condition that McBarbie will have 100% of the likeness rights. This clause is extremely rare amongst clubs, where the player and the club each have 50% of the rights to the player's likeness. Real Madrid have not been able to satisfy McBarbie's demands in terms of likeness rights, which has become one of the key factors in McBarbie's weighing up.
