On June 11, 2024 in the fourth round of the group stage of the World Cup African qualifiers, a passionate match was played between Benin and Nigeria.

With the drums of war beating, Nigeria took the lead when in the 28th minute, Chukwueze made a clever cross from the right and Onyedika made a slight adjustment and fired a precise shot into the net to make the score 0-1 in favor of Nigeria. But Benin didn't sink there as they quickly adjusted their strategy in search of an equalizer.

In the 37th minute, Benin's persistence finally paid off. Jordel Dossou made a breakaway in front of the goal and then pushed the ball into the goal to make the score 1-1. this goal not only boosted the morale of Benin, but also made the game more tightly paced.

Towards the end of the first half, Benin made a comeback. In the 45th minute, Olaitan sent in a corner kick from the right side, and Moune scored again with a powerful shot to put Benin back in front, 2-1. The goal not only consolidated their lead, but also gave them hope of victory.

In the second half, the two sides fought to the death. Nigeria tried to turn the game around by stepping up their attack, but the Beninese defense was rock solid and managed to withstand the Nigerian onslaught with excellent teamwork and resilience.

In the 85th minute, Olawoyin's cross from the right was so accurate that the ball almost flew into the goal. In the 86th minute, Onuachu's header went over the crossbar. Although neither of these two attacks were converted into goals, Nigeria's efforts in the second half were evident.

As the referee blew the whistle for the end of the match, Benin eventually came back to beat Nigeria 2-1 to earn the all-important victory. Goals from Moune and Jordel Dossou were responsible for the win. Nigeria, on the other hand, led in the first half but could not withstand Benin's counter-attacks and eventually lost.
