The deal. Negotiations between Marseille and Manchester United are still at an early stage and the fee is yet to be further discussed and finalized.
Marseille are keen to bring in 22-year-old Greenwood and they have been in active conversations with the player himself. Reports suggest that Greenwood is currently preferring Marseille over other potential options.
Previously, Lazio also showed strong interest in Greenwood. For their part, United now prefer to sell him on a permanent basis, although the possibility of a loan or a return to training at the youth camp is not ruled out.
Apart from Marseille and Lazio, Juventus and Napoli, as well as teams from Germany, Spain and Portugal are also keeping an eye on Greenwood. In addition, Getafe are also hoping to bring in the young player again.
Last season, Greenwood made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and six assists. He has one year left on his contract with United and is valued at around €25 million according to the German transfer market.
