On June 11, the group stage of the World Cup African qualifiers was in full swing, with Benin's clash with Nigeria in the spotlight.

In the 37th minute, Benin took a turn for the better. Jordel Dossou made the score 1-1 after a breakaway, a goal that not only boosted the morale of the Beninese team, but also made the game even more exciting.

In the extra time of the first half, Benin showed their strength again. In the 45th+3rd minute, Olaitan sent in a precise corner kick, which Mounié skillfully fired in to make the score 2-1 and Benin went back in front, with victory on the horizon.

In the second half, players from both sides fought hard. The Nigerian team tried to turn the score around, but the Beninese team defended stoutly and managed to withstand the onslaught of their opponents with excellent teamwork and resilience.

In the 85th minute, Olawo's cross from the right was headed off the line by a defender. In the 86th minute, Onuachu's header went over the crossbar. Despite these two unsuccessful attempts, Nigeria's efforts in the second half were evident.

As the referee's whistle blew, the match came to an end. Benin won a crucial game with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Nigeria. Goals from Moune and Jordel Dossou were key to the team's victory. Nigeria led at half-time but could not withstand Benin's counter-attacks and eventually lost.
