With the 17th round of the Premier League campaign just around the corner, Liverpool manager David Sloter revealed his team's injury-depleted squad in his pre-match press conference, stating outright that Konate and Connor Bradley are the only two fighters who have not been able to fit into the ensemble.
Slaughter revealed, "Konate and Bradley are currently on 'red alert,' meaning they have not yet trained in sync with the team. They are actively healing but not yet at a level to play alongside their teammates."
In response to a reporter's query about the timing of the two players' comebacks, Sloter admitted: "It's really hard to predict. We were expecting Diogo Jota to come back earlier, but the road to recovery is often full of unknowns, and the final sprints may take more time. While they try to join training, they often say: 'I am not yet fully ready to play.' Therefore, we must remain patient."
Slaughter is confident in the team's rehabilitation team, "We have top-notch rehabilitation specialists who have already provided excellent rehabilitation for Alisson and the other players. Our main concern is to make sure they are foolproof when they return to the field."
He added: "We are not only focusing on the short-term plan for their return, but we are also taking a long-term view to ensure that they are in the best possible shape for the future. As of now, the rehabilitation process is going well and we expect Konate and Bradley to make a smooth recovery and return to the green as the other players have done."
