Recently, the British media had the privilege of conducting an exclusive interview with Arsenal's dazzling star Saka, in which Saka talked about his ambitions at Arsenal, his deep reflections on past seasons, recent impressive performances, the team's knack of scoring from set-pieces, as well as his longing to soon join hands with England's new manager, Tuchel.
In the face of Arsenal's embarrassing failure to win a major trophy for the fourth consecutive year, Saka was adamant: "We are not afraid. Over the past two seasons, we have been one step away from winning the league, and we have gained valuable experience by returning to the Champions League. Now we are ready for every trophy. We are eager to take the crucial step and try to win it all."
Referring to his personal regrets of losing twice in the Europa League finals and coming second in the Premier League twice, Saka admits, "It was really frustrating. But for me, it turned into motivation to move forward. I am eager to win this season and try to lift the trophy. We worked hard all season and almost touched the trophy. Whether it was the Europa League final or the Premier League title, we had our chances but in the end it didn't happen. It was like a year of hard work with nothing to show for it. While we can be proud of our progress over the season, that's exactly why we're more eager than ever to take the next step and win."
Talking about his recent stellar performances, Sarkar admits, "I know exactly what I want to achieve in the game. No matter what I do or don't do, people are always talking. Even if we win, the conversation remains. So my mindset is to be good and live my life. Because no matter what, people will always have different opinions."
Since last season, Arsenal have scored 23 goals from corners, making them the leading Premier League team. Saka said, "We are a top team and are equally good at set pieces. We have great players and players who are hungry for goals. I have nothing negative to say about that. Let's keep scoring goals and hopefully that will bring us more points."
Speaking about his upcoming work with England's new head coach Tuchel, Saka is looking forward to it, "He's a coach who has won many championships and has a lot of experience. We are all looking forward to working under him and seeing if we can move on and take new steps."
In addition, Sacca shared his support for the soccer coaching profession. He mentioned that he played for Colin Nixon at the age of six for the Greenford Celtics through the Chase Soccer Coaching Program, which is designed to sponsor people from low-income family backgrounds to enter the coaching profession. Today, Saka is actively involved in the program and encourages the next generation of coaches, "Behind every player there is an inspirational coach. For me, Colin was my inspirational coach. They start with these programs and the coaches believe in them and give them opportunities. We treasure people like Colin. It's really nice to be reunited with him because I had my first class with him about 17 years ago."
