Silvinho, the leading figure in Albanian football, revealed in a recent interview that the upcoming Euro opener will be like a heavy bomb that will have a huge impact on the Italian psyche. Despite Albania's testing qualifying campaign, the coach is full of confidence and has vowed to go all out on the green fields of the Euros.
Silvinho further pointed out that Italy, the traditional hegemon of the soccer world, has always been incredibly competitive. Citing Brazil's draw with Switzerland in the 2018 World Cup as an example, he cautioned Italy that once it loses its first match, it fears that its subsequent journey will be a difficult one.
Nevertheless, Silvinho also confessed that the Albanian team, although not carrying the same heavy expectations as Italy, is feeling the same tension of the tournament. He revealed that the team is in good health and that the players are giving their best in training to make the tournament a success.
Talking about his personal coaching career, Silvinho recalled his time in Italy, especially his experience as assistant coach of Inter Milan. He was overwhelmed with emotion, saying that he had learned many valuable lessons during those days and praised the tactical philosophy of Italian soccer.
As the Europa League draws nearer, Silvinho and his Albanian team are ready to go, looking forward to challenging the strongest teams in the tournament and competing with the likes of Italy to show off their skills.
