Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke gave his thoughts on the current state of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford in a recent interview and exuded deep sympathy for the plight of the young talent.

Yorke bluntly stated that Rashford's decline in athleticism has been mind-boggling, and that the sense of solidity he once had on the field has now disappeared. He emphasized that what has happened to Rashford is not just a personal problem, but a warning to the entire soccer world, reminding every player of the brutality of the sport.

"Competition in soccer is brutal, and one slip of the tongue can lead to a backlash." York lamented, "I've had similar experiences, so it's a real shame to see Rashford in his prime but suffering such adversity."

In response to Rashford's recent public expression of hope to leave Manchester United, York said understandable, but also deeply regrettable. He believes that Rashford should have been in the golden period of his career to enjoy the harvest, but had to face the choice of leaving the team.

"We're talking about a player who grew up at a top club like Manchester United, who started in the youth camp and worked his way up to the top." York recalled, "It's a real shame that he has chosen to leave now. I know there has been a lot of criticism out there that has made life difficult for him, but he has obviously achieved a lot. However, it is certainly painful for him to see his United career coming to an end."

Yorke also sent a message to Rashford to find the strength to regain control of his career, whether it be at Manchester United or elsewhere in the future. He believes that Rashford needs to learn from his struggles and keep improving his strength and mentality.

"When he looks back on this time in his old age, he may think, 'I didn't think it would turn out this way.'" York said, "But it's important that he move on from this experience. I believe he has the ability to do that."
