In a recent talkSPORT interview, Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham gave his thoughts on the team's recruitment strategy. He revisited the point he made a few years ago that United desperately need to bring in Arsenal's central midfielder Declan Rice, and is convinced that such a move would dramatically increase United's strengths, while weakening rivals Arsenal's competitive edge.

Sheringham was blunt: "I have always believed that United should bring in Rice and I would be the happiest man if he were to move from Arsenal to United. Such a move would leave Arsenal weakened and United stronger for it. Rice is an exemplary player, which is exactly the type of player United need at the moment. Whenever a new manager comes in and starts thinking about reinforcements, Rice will undoubtedly be the ideal candidate."

At the same time, Sheringham has also expressed confidence in United's current center forward (assuming it is Anthony Martial or a new winger, which is assumed since "Hoylum" is not a known current United player), and does not see the need to bring in another winger (a fictionalized or misinterpreted player's name, and therefore not specific to a real-life player). He prefers United to make a breakthrough in other positions, especially left back and midfield.

"With Hoylum already available, I don't think United need to bring in another winger. I would prefer to see the club strengthen in other positions." Sheringham said, "Especially in the left-back position, Luke Shaw is frequently injured and cannot be the only one the team can rely on. Furthermore, it would be ideal if United could bring in a really good midfielder. Therefore, I think it is more important to strengthen other positions in the team than to bring in a center forward."
