Manchester United star Scholes has sounded a strong note of skepticism about the prospects of Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford on a Sky Sports program. Scholes revealed that although Rashford had moments of brilliance, his performances seem to have fallen into a slump since then.

Scholes recalled fondly, "Whenever I see young talent leaving the club, there is always an endless ache in my heart, just like the departure of Welbeck and others, that feeling of abandonment is suffocating." Scholes further pointed out that Rashford's problem is that despite his goals raining down on him two years ago, when he scored 30 goals that season, he has never found that form since.

Scholes was outspoken in his criticism, "That's probably why he's been so controversial because he had reached such a high standard and now, over the last 18 months or two years, no matter how hard he's tried, he hasn't been able to get back to that height. His situation doesn't seem to be looking good, the young man doesn't look happy, and even if he is able to score goals, one wonders if there is some unknown reason behind it all, and if he is getting the right help behind the scenes?"

Scholes also revealed that Rashford's on-field choices and off-field attitude have frustrated him. He mentioned that during Ten Hagar's tenure, Rashford was late for a meeting ahead of a game against Wolves and now, once again, he has failed to make the matchday squad. According to Scholes, these behaviors expose Rashford's problems with professionalism.
