In the warm-up moments for the upcoming EFL Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United coach David Amorim has faced the media and confronted the recent rumors surrounding a possible transfer for striker Marcus Rashford. He revealed that he has had in-depth conversations with many of the players and interacts frequently on the training ground, and is committed to unlocking the potential of every player, especially a footballing talent like Rashford.
Amorim said bluntly, "I'm not talking about the future, I'm just focusing on the present. My ambition is to take the team to the top, win every victory and help the team continue to improve. Rashford is vital to us and his inclusion in the squad will undoubtedly make it stronger, that's a self-evident fact. We need to work together to help him return to his former glory days."
He continued: "A big club like Manchester United needs outstanding talent and Rashford is certainly one of the best. He just needs to play his best in the game and that's my only focus. I just want to help him and make him a better player."
Speaking about the upcoming hard battle, Amorim lamented, "We are about to face a hard battle, and for me it is one of the big challenges of my soccer career. We are in the midst of adversity, but as one of the top clubs in the world, I see this as a new and biggest challenge. I hope my players are ready to go."
Faced with a question about whether he had spoken to Rashford, Amorim responded, "I gave the players a day off so they could relax. But Rashford is our player and he is undoubtedly ready for the next game."
