The Stick to Football podcast is back and Gary Neville is full of praise for Welbeck's recent performances. He asserted that Welbeck's form has surpassed that of any striker in United's squad and is convinced that United made a big mistake in letting him go. Roy Keane is not convinced, and he squarely refutes Neville's view that a player's good performances since leaving the club do not simply equate to the fact that he should have stayed at United in the first place.

Neville is not budging, insisting that Welbeck is undoubtedly a key figure if United expand to a 24-man squad and intend to keep five or six strikers. Keane, on the other hand, disagreed, pointing out that players may have a spring in their step when they leave United, but that's not enough to prove that they are up to United's high level of competition and rigor. The two Manchester United veterans engaged in a tit-for-tat debate on the subject, each arguing their own point of view.
