Tottenham Hotspur's captain Son detailed his thoughts on the team's performance and his recognition of the newcomers in an official club interview following an emphatic 5-0 victory.
Talking about the opening lead of the match, Son emphasized, "The opening was really too crucial for us. During the game, we showed a strong attacking momentum with no intention of stopping, aiming to break down the opponent's goal as much as possible. Both myself and Maddison had a number of chances on goal and eventually converted the goals. That's the Tottenham style - we love to attack, we love to create chances and take them. In the first half, we played well and created a lot of chances, and we couldn't be happier with that performance. Especially during the previous low period of five consecutive games without a win, a win like this is vital for our morale."
When asked about Berival, Spence and Dorrington, who made their first Premier League debuts, Sun gave them high praise, "They deserve this opportunity. Archie Gray and Berival train hard every day and their efforts have finally paid off. For Spence, this game could be a challenge for him, as he hasn't had many chances despite his constant efforts. But that's the way soccer is, you have to be patient and wait for your chances and hold on to them when they come. He played very well today and I'm happy for his performance. Meanwhile, Maddison and Kulusevski both scored, but we can't forget the quiet players like Berival, Dorrington, Dragushin, Spence, and Udoki. As captain, it is very gratifying to see these young players shoulder the responsibility. Their outstanding performances have made my job of leadership easy and I am proud of them. I will continue to inspire them in their roles and hopefully they will contribute to the team again as they did today and I am confident that they all have bright futures ahead of them."
