IN-DEPTH REVEAL: Man Utd and Red Bull Leipzig in race for Muani's future in suspense
Manchester United and Red Bull Leipzig are both eyeing up Paris Saint-Germain's number one striker Mouani, according to the team newspaper. The 25-year-old French shot-stopper joined Paris for a record €95 million in 2023, however, scoring just 11 goals in 54 games does not match his price tag.
Inside sources claim that Paris boss Enrique has removed Mouani from his future plans, and as a result, the Ligue 1 giants are willing to sell him in the winter transfer window. Mouani has had only a handful of appearances for Paris this season, making just three starts and failing to even make the starting XI for the fixture against Lyon. Despite his struggles at club level, he has been impressive for the French national team, scoring three goals in his last five matches.
Looking back at the 2022-23 season, Mouani's impressive performance at Eintracht Frankfurt, with 23 goals and 17 assists, attracted the attention of Manchester United and other giants. At the time, Manchester United had intended to sign him for £105 million, and Mouani himself said that joining the Premier League was his "dream". Now, Paris Saint-Germain has opened communication with Mouani's team, and teams such as Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have also expressed interest, but Mouani's future remains uncertain.
Bringing in Mouani will be a key transfer for Manchester United and Red Bull Leipzig. His pace, skill and goal-scoring ability would breathe new life into the team's attack. However, they will also need to carefully consider Mouani's plight in Paris and whether he will be able to fit into the new tactical system and team culture.
