Everton and Arsenal exchanged a 0-0 draw in the 16th round of the English Premier League on December 15, Beijing time. After the match, Everton's manager Sean Dyche gave his insights on the team's recent situation and the rival Arsenal's competitive status in the Premier League Manufacturing Interview.
Dyche on the team's journey this season: "The story of this season has been quite dramatic. We started off with a lot of adversity, but now things have stabilized. We've had a lot of draws, but that hasn't stopped us from stabilizing recently. We've managed to keep our unbeaten streak going for a number of matches, and not too long ago we won a game by a large margin, scoring an impressive number of goals. This is a testament to where our strength and potential lies."
Talking about the opponent Arsenal, Dyche expressed his respect: "They are a team that cannot be underestimated. They are a team to be reckoned with. Despite some criticism from the outside world, they are still able to win matches. They are currently at the top of the table, which fully proves their strength. Arsenal has a strong team, and they have shown great strength in both offense and defense. Therefore, we need to give our best in the game today to be able to compete with them."
Dyche also recalled last season's excellent performance at Arsenal's home ground: "We had a very good period of play here last season and deserved to get something out of it. However, the referee went against us that day, which we regret. But there are always bad things in soccer and we need to stay calm and keep working hard. We did that today and although we didn't win the game, we deserve credit for our performance."
Looking ahead, Dyche is confident: "We will continue to play solidly and work hard to improve the overall strength of the team. We have a young team full of potential, and I believe that as long as we are united and continue to work hard, we will be able to achieve more victories in the coming matches. Our goal is to be at the top of the Premier League and we will work hard to achieve that."
