He also emphasized that, "In order to assess whether Ali deserves a new contract, he will have to stick with the U21 ladder for six months. Despite the fact that Alli's contract is up in the summer, he has continued to train with Everton and has expressed a strong desire to extend his contract. Brian King recognized Ali's past achievements, "He was extremely good and I believe that with a return to fitness, he can still get back to the top."
