Manchester United legend Louis Saha hit the nail on the head in his interview, analyzing teammate Marcus Rashford's on-field performance and mental state. Saha emphasized that as a striker, Rashford needs to be aware of the huge contribution that goals make to a team's victory, and that he should step up to the plate when the team is in trouble. At the same time, he also bluntly, Rashford must face up to the reality of their own attention, can no longer be young to avoid external evaluation.
Saha further elaborated, "Scoring goals is undoubtedly a great joy for strikers and Rashford knows he has the ability to change the game. When the team is in the doldrums, players should be brave enough to step up and boost morale with goals." He went on to emphasize that "Rashford must choose the appropriate course of action because it is inevitable that every move he makes escapes the public eye. He can't just ask others to shut up, the situation is not going to change on its own."
Saha also pointed out that Rashford enjoys a great deal of attention and affection as a homegrown star of Manchester United, a world-class club. However, it also puts more responsibility and pressure on him. "He may feel that youth can be an excuse to seek protection from public opinion, but that is not the case. He is somehow beyond the level of the average player and that is where his challenge lies. He has to learn to accept that attention and learn how to deal with the voices."
As of this season, Rashford, 27, has appeared in 23 games for Manchester United, including 18 starts, contributing seven goals and three assists. His current contract expires in the summer of 2028.
