After a friendly and in-depth communication, Ibán Cuadrado, the famous Spanish soccer coach, officially announced that he will take charge of the first team of Wuxi Wuhu Football Club from now on.
Born on February 21, 1979, the coach thrived at the La Masia youth camp, where he played alongside soccer stars such as Xavi and Iniesta. His professional journey began in Barcelona and took him to renowned clubs such as Morcia, Málaga and Rayo Vallecano, before he traveled across the ocean to China in 2013 to join Shanghai Dongya, where he helped the team reach the Chinese Super League the following year with his outstanding performances.
After his retirement, Iban started his coaching career in Murcia.In 2018, he returned to Barcelona as an assistant coach for the U17s and U18s, where he helped the team win the U17 and U18 league crowns.From 2021 to 2023, he served as Barcelona's U18 head coach, where he was not only honored with the UEFA Professional Coaching Certificate, but also led the team to win the Indonesia U18 International Championship and the U18MIC International Championship.
