Chinese Super League powerhouse Beijing Guoan has suffered a heavy blow recently, with the disdain shown for it by an underperforming foreigner who couldn't even get a place on the bench!

Beijing Guoan, Shanghai Shenhua and Shandong Taishan, three clubs that enjoy a long history in China's top soccer league. Founded in 1992, Beijing Guoan has been around for 31 years. Despite repeatedly showing the strength to win the league, it wasn't until 2009 that they finally celebrated their first championship.

Beijing Guoan has never stopped in its pursuit of the title, frequently changing its coaching staff and bringing in foreign aid. In the wave of gold-dollar soccer, Guoan's foreign aid lineup is star-studded, with many top players who have played in the top five leagues, such as Brazilian international Augusto. However, the rise of rival Guangzhou Evergrande has made it difficult for Guoan's dream of winning the title to come true.

With the end of the golden dollar soccer era, Guangzhou Evergrande has been relegated to the Central League. Beijing Guoan rekindled their hopes of winning the title, but the team's strength is not what it used to be, despite bringing in famous coaches and signing well-known foreign aiders. However, the team's performance did not improve significantly, and even ranked sixth in the 2023 season.

Dabbro, the Croatian foreigner signed by Beijing Guoan on April 15, 2022, contributed a goal with teammate Adebenelo early in the league. Although Adebenro failed to score, he earned applause from the fans for his lively play in front of goal. Dabbro's goal accidentally labeled him as a "waterboy".

Due to Dabrow's unsatisfactory performance, coach Xie Feng had to refrigerate him on the bench. The Croatian player's joining was originally regarded as a good thing for Guoan, but failed to play a proper role in the team. Last season, he was loaned to the Latvian league, but the performance is still low, the whole season only contributed to 2 goals, and not key goals.

Nonetheless, Beijing Guoan still hoped to recall Dabbro after the expiration of his loan and give him a chance to prove himself again. However, surprisingly, Dabrow refused to return and had his agent looking around for European teams, especially in Croatia.

This is certainly a blow to Beijing Guoan. A player who couldn't be a starter in either league has shown disdain for Guoan and is unwilling to return to the team. It makes one question where exactly Dabbro got such courage from. A player in the Chinese Super League and the Latvian League can not become a starter, what qualifications to belittle Guoan?
