The second round of Chinese Super League (CSL) matches on April 22nd was like a wonderful feast, which not only made the brand of CSL shine, but also made the audience's blood boil.
The first round of matches was slightly dull, with no more than three goals scored in eight duels, and the games lacked suspense, with neither reversals nor victories. But the Tianjin Jinmen Tigers in the second round kicked off the new season with a 2-1 comeback win at home against Zhejiang. The final match of the round was even more dramatic with two 3-2 scores.
Shanghai Port 3-2 Shenzhen
Despite Jiang Guangtai receiving a red card after his goal, Shanghai Seaport extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal from foreigner Pinto, however, Shenzhen did not give up after falling behind by two goals, Jiang Zhipeng's corner kick went straight to the goal to bring the score to 1-2, then he assisted Archie Mbeng in the 84th minute to bring the score to 2-2.
In the third minute after a 2-2 draw, national soccer team's good buddy Wu Lei helped Shanghai Seaport take the lead again in his own unique way, scoring to help his team win 3-2 for the second consecutive victory.
Wu Lei was held scoreless in a 2-0 away win over defending champions Wuhan Sanzhen in the first round, but Paulinho's two goals were both assisted by him.
The 3-2 battle between Changchun Yatai and Dalian Ren was even more tumultuous and tense than the heated duel between Shanghai Seaport 3-2 Shenzhen.
In the 93rd minute and 33 seconds of the game, Dalian people striker Mamba grabbed the goal in front of the goal, twice down twice equalized. Dalian Ren head coach Xie Hui excitedly waved his fist and roared.
However, at the 95th minute and 20 seconds, Changchun Yatai's Liao Chengjian replied with a header to put Changchun Yatai back in front with an incredible 3-2. At this point, Xie Hui's mood fell from the clouds to the bottom, and his expression was captured by the camera in close-up.
I have to admit that today's two 3-2 matches were undoubtedly the highlights of the Chinese Super League. Many fans exclaimed that if the Chinese Super League can maintain such fast-paced games, the Chinese national soccer team is expected to enter the World Cup.
