After all the ups and downs of attracting Dursun, Douglas Tank and Avel Hernandez, Changchun Yatai FC has finally locked down a foreign center forward! Well-known Brazilian journalist Felipe Silva broke the news that 25-year-old Lennardo will play for Changchun Yatai on a season-long loan from Shandong Taishan.

Last season, Lennardo had a brief loan spell at South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai, where he was the team's top scorer with 14 goals and 6 assists in 43 games under coach Hong Myung-bok. With his help, Ulsan won their third league title in their history, defeating Jeonbuk Hyundai.

As the season came to an end, despite Ulsan Hyundai's interest in keeping him, Lennardo could only be rented out again given that Shandong Taishan's foreign aid quota was full. It is worth mentioning that as early as when Lennardo was still playing in Brazil, Shandong Taishan was interested in bringing him in and promised to bear most of his salary; however, with the joining of Caleri and the loan of Eriksson, São Paulo's interest in Lennardo has greatly diminished, and the loan has been shelved.

Lennardo has recently arrived in China and started his personal training at the Shandong Taishan base. The dust has finally settled on his new owner, and the new Chinese Super League season is about to kick off. According to Felipe Silva, Lenaldo will sign a one-year loan contract with Changchun Yatai. In order to save money, Changchun Yatai plans to have only four foreigners for the first half of the 2023 season, and Lenardo, Serginho, Zui and Okore will all be among them.
