Last year's season, four new teams in the Chinese Super League (CSL) were like dark horses, with Wuhan writing a Kaiserslautern-like saga, Zhejiang leaping to become a strong contender for the AFC Champions League, and Chengdu Rongcheng and Meizhou Hakka also showing their dark horse colors. This season, the Chinese Super League welcomed three new teams, however, Kunshan team regretted to retire. However, the performances of Qingdao Hainiu and Nantong Zhiyun are enough to make the fans eagerly await.
Qingdao Hainiu is the first team to start a signing frenzy when the transfer window opens, with more than half of the foreign aid quota already utilized. Although they are all exempted from signing, their strength should not be underestimated. In terms of internal reinforcements, Qingdao Hainiu announced the signing of five players, including Ma Xingyu, Xu Dong, Song Wenjie, Chen Chunxin and Zhong Jinbao. In addition, Zhang Wei, Long Wei, Fu Yun Cheng, Liu Chaoyang and other players are also on the list. Among them, 30-year-old Zhang Wei is on loan from Chinese Super League giants Shanghai Port.
Zhang Wei, born in March 1993 in Shangqiu, Henan Province, is a 1.77-meter tall player who plays as a wingback. He came from the Shanghai Chongming Genbao Soccer School and was promoted to the first team of Shanghai Harbour at the age of 18. Honored with the gold medal in U20 men's soccer at the National Games, Zhang Wei has played for the team for many years, accumulating 106 appearances, contributing 3 goals and 8 assists, and helping the team win the Chinese Super League title.
Unfortunately, Zhang Wei has suffered frequent injuries in recent seasons and his position in the Shanghai Seaports team has gradually been marginalized. For this reason, Shanghai Harbour Club decided to loan him to another Chinese Super League team so that he would not waste his time on the bench. Last year, he made 8 appearances for Tianjin Jinmen Tigers in the Chinese Super League, contributing 2 assists.
Zhang Wei, a hard-working and diligent player on the pitch with excellent physical and assisting abilities, and his rich experience in the Chinese Super League makes him an excellent choice for Qingdao Hainiu. Currently, Zhang Wei is training closely with Qingdao Hainiu, trying to integrate into the new team quickly. We are looking forward to seeing him fly for Qingdao Hainiu in the new season and help the team to achieve another success in the Chinese Super League.
