The Korean soccer team has unveiled the domestic training list of 27 players in October, of which 10 players will be the first to assemble in Paju on the 28th, while the remaining players will have to join after completing the relegation play-offs for the KNVB Cup final. There is no definite news as to when Son Jungho will join.
South Korea will face Iceland in a domestic warm-up match on Nov. 11, their final match before departing for Qatar. Notably, players playing in the Euroleague will not be involved in this warm-up.
On the 12th, South Korea will unveil its 26-man squad for the World Cup, while the team will depart from Incheon for Qatar in the early hours of the 14th. By then, players playing in Europe, including Son, will join the South Korean national team.
This October training session is Bento's last chance to look at Korean homegrown players and those playing in Asian leagues. Son Jungho, who plays for Shandong Taishan, was selected and has a good chance of being included in the final 26-man Korean squad. He is currently playing in the Chinese Super League with Shandong Taishan and there is no word on when he will join the Korean team.
South Korea is in a group with Uruguay, Portugal and Ghana in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. South Korea is aiming to make it to the last 16 of the World Cup again since 2010 in South Africa.
