On the night of August 28th, Henan Songshan Longmen hosted Guangzhou in the 15th round of the Chinese Super League. What was remarkable was not only the intensity of the game, but also an unexpected "farewell show". Some excited Songshan Longmen fans hung banners on the viewing platform to express their sadness to Dorado, who was suspended for one year for violating the rules, and even made a "portrait" with a black-and-white photo of referee Manning (the target of Dorado's attack) as their avatar. This behavior triggered widespread criticism and accusations, the CFA also quickly intervened in the investigation, Songshan Longmen and its home match area is afraid to escape punishment.
Although the Songshan Dragons eventually beat Guangzhou 2-1 to honor the team's 28th anniversary, the impact of the Dorado violation is still festering. The "portraits" of some of the fans hanging in the stands quickly spread on the Internet, triggering strong reactions and widespread condemnation both inside and outside the soccer community.
The CFA attaches great importance to this matter and has initiated an investigation process. According to the regulations, the home team's club is directly responsible for the behavior of its home spectators, especially the violations. Once the results of the investigation are confirmed, the Songshan Dragons and their home division will likely face appropriate penalties.
Mt. Dragon team side expressed regret for the incident. Club personnel revealed that a total of 4,656 fans were admitted through the real-name system, with more than 1,300 security personnel, and the ratio of security to fans was as high as 1 to 3.43. The club required that the content of all banners planned to be hung be signed in and reviewed before the game. However, due to the cold weather, some of the banners failed to pass the security check due to the thin material. The club explained, "The weather was too cold, many fans were wearing thick clothes, and the security staff could not conduct strict security checks like at airports or high-speed rail stations, and we did not have the authority to do so."
Nonetheless, it is still regrettable that this incident occurred and the Mt. Longmen and their tournament area have to bear some responsibility. The CFA will handle the incident further.
