Recently, rumors have been swirling that Vargas, an ex-teammate of former Chinese Super League star Wu Lei and now a player with Espanyol, is about to embark on a journey to China to join Shanghai Harbour Club, a news that has attracted a lot of attention from the Korean media.

Vargas has reportedly reached an agreement to join the Chinese Super League's Shanghai Harbour for a transfer fee of up to €5 million.

Meanwhile, Wu Lei has made it clear that he will return to Shanghai Harbor. The addition of Vargas is undoubtedly a strong support for Wu Lei. Back in 2019, Vargas joined Espanyol for a transfer fee of 10.5 million euros, and was also loaned to the Turkish league last season, during which he scored six goals.

However, the Chinese Super League is currently facing difficulties, and some big clubs are even in arrears of wages, so the league's survival is in doubt. Brazilian star Oscar is also eager to leave Shanghai Harbor, but it seems that it has not worked out as expected.
