The night was low, and in the 12th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on August 12, an up-and-coming team, Wuhan Sanzhen, swept away veteran powerhouse Beijing Guoan with a stunning score of 5-1, a feat that undoubtedly refreshed the best record for a promoted team in the CSL in the opening round.
Ji Yuyang, a well-known media personality in Shanghai, commented enthusiastically on his social media platform, "If not for Bi Jinhao's goal at the end of the Shenhua game, Wuhan Three Town would have almost written the myth of 12 consecutive victories for promoted horses in the top league. Even so, their opening record of 11 wins and 1 draw has surpassed the opening records of all promoted teams in the history of the Chinese Super League."
After Wuhan Sanzhen, the best record holder for promoted teams in the Chinese Super League used to be the former soccer juggernaut Guangzhou Evergrande. They were promoted in the 2011 season, but suffered back-to-back draws in the first two rounds. Wuhan Sanzhen, on the other hand, are continuing to make new history after their big win over Beijing Guoan. Next up, they will face Henan Songshan Longmen on the road, which will undoubtedly be a tough test of their strength.
