The original 9 matches, only 4 as scheduled, the remaining 5 postponed. At the same time, the two matches of the 16th round were also skillfully moved to the 12th round. The outbreak has led to an upgraded anti-epidemic policy in the Haikou tournament area, requiring five inspections to be completed in seven days to leave Haikou, causing six Chinese Super League teams to be stranded in Haikou. These include Cangzhou Lions, Tianjin Jinmen Tigers and Hebei. After in-depth study, the preparatory group of the CFL decided to put the six teams first to fight each other, and arranged for August 30th and 31st preparatory match day.
It is predicted that in a week's time, these Chinese Super League teams will have a chance to leave the Haikou tournament. However, the 13th, 14th and even future rounds of the Super League could still face adjustments.
Despite the inconvenience caused by the schedule adjustment to some teams, almost all clubs are fully cooperating. For example, in the previous round of matches, Dalian People managed to draw with Shanghai Seaport despite facing a 10-man absence and the suspension of their skipper, thanks to the support of the fans at Puwan Stadium. And Henan Songshan Longmen swept Beijing Guoan 3-0 in their home match at the Navigation Stadium with the support of 6,567 fans.
Regarding the epidemic in Haikou, the focus of attention of the Chinese Super League fans also includes the national football selection team that previously participated in the East Asian Cup. As the international players did not participate, it had a big impact on the teams of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shanghai Shenhua. However, judging from the adjusted schedule, at least for this round, the losses of all three teams will be mitigated.
The home-and-away system is the general trend, but in this context, its recovery process is destined to be tortuous. Each team has to endure different pressures and make necessary sacrifices. Thankfully, both the CFL preparatory team and the clubs are doing their best to escort the league.
