July 19, Beijing time, Scottish Premier League powerhouse Celtic FC officially announced that former Shanghai Seaports foreign aid, Australian international Aaron Mooy officially joined the team as a free agent. According to Romano, Muy has agreed to terminate his contract with Shanghai Harbour and move to Celtic, signing a one-year contract with a one-year extension option. Muay has not returned to China to play since the start of this season's Chinese Super League. Muy's career in Hong Kong has been intermittent due to national team call-ups and immigration quarantine. He has not played a single game for the team so far this season. In light of this situation, the two sides eventually decided to terminate the contract early, allowing Muy to return to free agency. Behind Muay's choice to join the Celtics is a connection to the team's head coach, Postecoglou. Postecoglou has coached the Australian national team and knows Muy's ability and style like the back of his hand. Talking about Muy's joining, Postecoglou said bluntly, "He has extraordinary talent and is a perfect fit for my team's system." According to Romano, Muy has a one-year contract with the Celtics with a one-year extension clause. Muoy, 32, kicked off his career in Europe in 2016 when he moved to City from A-League Melbourne City. Since then, Mooy has played for the likes of Huddersfield and Brighton in the Premier League, becoming one of the leading Australian players in the top five leagues. After Viduka, Cowell and Cahill, Mooy became the leading Australian player in the top five leagues. In the 2020 summer transfer window, Shanghai Seaport signed Mooy in the second transfer window. In a year and a half with Seaport, Muay made 31 appearances, scoring six goals and contributing three assists. Prior to Muy's arrival, Lopez left Shanghai Harbor and Oscar was rumored to be on his way out. This summer, Shanghai Harbor's foreign aid lineup will face a "big reshuffle".
