On July 16, Football Daily disclosed that Guangzhou City FC was making slow progress in dealing with the issue of players' unpaid wages, and that the team would start a new round of dialogue between the two sides after restructuring.

Recently, R&F Group released a personnel change announcement, making drastic adjustments to the management of Guangzhou City FC. Former chairman Huang Shenghua and general manager Guo Nengpei were both dismissed, replaced by Huang Yu and Zhang Bin. It is worth mentioning that Zhang Bin is no stranger to the club.

Both Huang Yu and Zhang Bin are in a part-time capacity, their real jobs are Chairman and President of R&F Shenzhen Dongguanhui Urban Renewal Group. They have been working hand-in-hand at R&F SZDH Urban Renewal Group (officially established in January 2020) for two and a half years, since the end of 2019.

According to the news, after the Guangzhou City team returned to Guangzhou from the Haikou tournament on July 11, Zhang Bin quickly intervened and had direct communication with each player of the team to discuss the settlement of salary arrears; at the same time, he also paid attention to the team's morale and team spirit issues.

However, due to the team's closed training period in Haikou, the face-to-face communication on July 11 and 12 did not make substantial progress, the club decided to take a vacation and continue the communication after the team regrouped.
