Exciting battle rages on as second stage league home-and-home returns soon
According to the latest instructions from the CFA, the CFF is making every effort to promote the restoration of home and away matches in the second phase of the league. The CFA has always regarded the restoration of the home-and-away system as a top priority, and according to the original plan, the change was expected to be piloted in the 3rd and 4th stages of the league. However, with the positive changes in the anti-epidemic situation, the subject of home and away restoration has been quickly put on the agenda.
It is reported that the restoration of home and away specific program has been submitted by the CFA to the State General Administration of Sport for approval, once the approval is passed, the immediate full start. In view of the league in late July due to the suspension of the East Asian Cup, the CFA plans to take advantage of this gap, a one-time completion of the home and away recovery work, directly in the second phase of the league to restart the home and away match system.
Currently, all the work is centering around the critical point of August 6th. However, given the specifics of the implementation in each city, it will undoubtedly be a tough test for the CFL and the Super League clubs to complete this laborious task before the start of the second phase of the league.
In the first half of this year, the CFA consulted with the Chinese Super League clubs on the resumption of the home and away match system, and gained the full support of 18 clubs. But in practice, it will also face many challenges. Under the influence of the epidemic, many clubs are under great economic pressure, and they can't make ends meet, and players haven't even received their salaries for as long as a year. Under such circumstances, the operation of home stadiums will also be a considerable expense. The CFA and CFF may need to work together to explore practical solutions to help the clubs tide over the difficult times.
