When Chongqing Two Rivers Athletic stopped training due to salary arrears, the FA and CFF preparatory team had considered not handing over teams, allowing the 2022 Chinese Super League to be played with 17 teams. However, given the factors of fair competition, protection of the integrity of the league and brand image, the FA and CFF preparatory team started discussing the plan of handing over teams to enter the Chinese Super League after Chongqing withdrew from the tournament, and eventually reached a consensus.
According to the rules of replacement, last season from the Super League to the Central League, Dalian people became the first replacement team. 25 May, Dalian people's club submitted the application for replacement. Even if the application is successful, Dalian people still face a series of follow-up work. Under the leadership of new manager Xie Hui, the team has been preparing for the Central League with a full Chinese squad. Due to the transfer ban imposed by FIFA on Dalian Ren, the club has little room for adjustment in terms of foreign aid - unless last season's foreign aid is recalled after the salary issue is resolved. It is reported that Danielson, Larsen and Boateng have not yet terminated their contracts with the club.
This year's Chinese Super League will be played in three zones: Dalian, Meizhou and Haikou. Although the Dalian People's Club once hoped to stay in Dalian, but the grouping plan of the three regions has long been determined, many of the Chinese Super League teams have gone to their respective regions to isolate, prepare for the game, and it is difficult to make further adjustments.
