The team's predecessor can be traced back to the Wuhan Avant-garde Football Salon established in 1994, renamed Avant-garde Huandao in 1995, rooted in Chongqing in 1997, and merged with Chongqing Hongyan Football Salon in 1999, giving birth to Chongqing Huandao Hongyan Football Salon. 2000, Lifan Group took over, and the team was renamed Chongqing Lifan Football Salon, and Chongqing Contemporary Lifan Football Salon in 2017, and finally in 2021. The team was renamed Chongqing Lifan Football Salon in 2000, Chongqing Contemporary Lifan Football Salon in 2017, and Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic Football Salon in 2021.
