In a recent report, Shandong Taishan's South Korean player Son Junho confessed that his biggest wish is to embark on the Qatar World Cup.
Son Jungho moved from Jeonbuk Hyundai to Chinese Super League powerhouse Shandong Taishan before the 2021 season, where he was honored as the K-League MVP during his time with Jeonbuk. In his first season with Shandong Taishan, he helped the team win the Chinese Super League title and the AFC Cup.
In the winter transfer window last year, Sun Junho was once the target of the pursuit of English Premier League Southampton and Fulham, which has just been promoted to the Premier League, but he eventually chose to extend his contract with Shandong Taishan.
At the national team level, Son Jun-ho was selected for the South Korean national team and played 151 minutes in the Asian Zone 40 and 12 matches of the World Qualifying Tournament. However, he has not played for the national team since last September's home match against Lebanon.
As June approaches, the South Korean national team will begin preparations for the World Cup in Qatar, with warm-up matches against Brazil, Chile and Paraguay now confirmed. However, there is no definite timetable for the start of the CFL. It has been reported that Son Jungho is expected to be selected for the national team again, but it has not yet been officially confirmed. It is worth mentioning that the 2022 Chinese Super League season is expected to start on June 3, and Sun Junho's departure will undoubtedly have a significant impact on Shandong Taishan's fighting strength.
