On March 15, the transfer door of China's professional soccer league was officially opened in the morning of that day, and various clubs have started the registration work of attracting reinforcements. However, Guangzhou suffered an unexpected change at this critical moment, and at the same time, the registration policy of the CFA has also changed. Soccer reporter Wang Xiaorui revealed that the Guangzhou team suddenly called off the transfer of some players, and the reason behind this is still a mystery.

Previously, the club was open to the transfer of first-team players, as long as the players were willing to give up their salaries, they were free to move. As a result, many international players have been going to other teams for trial since the beginning of winter training, such as Liu Dianzheng, Liao Lisheng, Deng Hanwen and others have basically determined the new owner.

However, the team suddenly called off the transfer of players, which may have become a ray of hope for them to stay in the team. However, in-depth analysis, the club has earlier made it clear that the maximum annual salary of first-team players is only $600,000, and the parent company is also unable to make additional investment. The departure of the main players is an established fact, and the difficulty of retaining them is undoubtedly quite huge.

In the past two or three years, Guangzhou's expenditure has been mainly on naturalized players, who unfortunately have not been fully developed in the national team, and our soccer has once again faltered in the World Qualification Tournament. Even their appearances in the league are subject to many restrictions. However, these restrictions were gradually relaxed as the naturalized players were released from their contracts and left one after another.

According to North Youth Sports, naturalized players will be transferred and registered as domestic players in the new season. This means that the restriction between players of Chinese descent and naturalized players without bloodlines is removed. In the 2020 season, naturalized players with Chinese blood will be considered as domestic players, while those without Chinese blood will need to meet two conditions: first, they must have been naturalized for five years; and second, they must be eligible to play for the national team. In addition, each team can only register one naturalized player without blood ties as a domestic player.

As a result, in the first two seasons, Guangzhou only had Eckerson and Jiang Guangtai registered as domestic helpers, while all other naturalized players were regarded as foreign helpers, and the quota restriction indirectly led to Gaolat being loaned to Hebei in the 2020 season, leaving Guangzhou without a core player. Now, with the departure of these naturalized players, the restriction policy has quietly disappeared, and perhaps the state-owned team will reintroduce some of the naturalized players and come up with a set of tailor-made "new policy". As for the Guangzhou team, the implementation of the naturalization policy so far, it can be said that the loss of a wife and soldiers, a heavy loss!
